I plan on taking him shopping with me when I go look for a new car, as every single one he has ever had has become in full disrepair within 2 months of purchasing it (he never, I mean NEVER has it checked out before buying one either :D ), he can tell me which to pick up (which I am to avoid like the plague). My nephew does some weird stuff, which is why I'm more conscientious about stating this outright nowadays, he went off and convinced his mom to pick him up a laptop 'for college' (which he promptly dropped out of after failing a class drinking and partying the whole time.), and went for an $1800 laptop that is worse than my desktop, which I could assemble right now, capable of running 4k (most) games on Ultra, for less than half that.

Every couple of years I upgrade my desktop to some new parts (GPU, RAM, SSD, etc.), it's a few hundred dollars every few years, but generally worth it considering that it's a top of the line set up at this point (with diminishing returns the greater the investment above that anyways). That might sound like a lot, but for comparison a laptop fo similar capacity usually runs (new) between $1000 to 1800, and is not upgradable. You could build a computer capable of playing games in 2k on high (the lower versions of it, not 'ultra' high), or at the very least medium-high where there's no real loss of fidelity expect for some various particle effects, for within $500-600. If you are currently using a laptop, I would highly suggest swapping to a desktop. Hmm, your GPU and CPU are rather low in terms of quality, I would suggest upgrading both. It's very frustrating to have been looking forward to this game all year, only for it to be acting sluggish for me. I'm hoping it's not a computer thing, but I have tried to adjust the graphics settings to fix this, but no matter what it will still slow down in the middle of combat. I should also add that I'm NOT playing online, this is all Singleplayer Arcade, VS Cpu, and Training modes. When the matches start, I can move around at the regular speed I'm used to, but as soon as I begin attacking, or start any kind of a combo, it slows down and it feels like the characters are fighting underwater.
This game feels like, in the middle of fighting, it slows down to a dreadful degree - it's not lagging since the screen doesn't become choppy or skip frames (it feels like it's slowing down to AVOID that from happening) -but in certain stages vs certain characters (really bad with Voldo, Ivy, and Taki I've found) the game is unberable to play. I'm very used to the speed of combat in the game, and as a Voldo main, I have the timing of his combos down perfectly to match the fast paced action of this game. I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing Soul Calibur games - primarily 2, 4, and 5.
